Coach Issa Saliman to publish book on football development in Kwara state

Former coach of Kwara United Football Club, Coach Issa Saliman has disclosed his intention to publish a book on football development in KwarasState.

Issa, in an interview with newsmen in Ilorin, revealed that the book titled “Kwara State Football Development: So far, How far” will contain everything about his history as a player and a coach.

“The book will contain everything about me with my playing and coaching career”, the former Nigeria Green Eagles player said.

Coach Saliman, who handled the University of Ilorin football team for 10 years noted that he feel obliged to put his thought and experiences together with a view to set the records straight, and also provide insights on football evolution in the state to the benefit of the present and unborn generation.

“As an insider and somebody that have seen it all right from the onset till this present time, I feel there is need for me to come out with something especially, those that don’t know about football development in Kwara state and to set the record straight”.

The septuagenarian had risen as a player from the grassroots to represent the state in several tournaments, played for grassroots and top flight clubs before featuring for the Nigeria national team, then known as Green Eagles, at the third All African Games in Algeria, in 1978.

As a player, he played for Super Pioneers FC, Kwara Academicals, Midland Babes and Water Corporation FC.

The National Institute Sports (NIS) trained coach with several FIFA and CAF accredited courses to his credit also added that the book will be launch in 2021 although with no specific date.
