The former Abubakar Bukola Saraki (ABS) Ilorin FC striker said he has excess joy to have scored against the best team in the country, adding that it was a difficult game for his club on Wednesday.

“It is not easy, thank God for our team and the coaches because they were always encouraging us.There is togetherness in the team. We love ourselves and we always support each other on the pitch”, Danbani said.

Danbani said with the present coordination and spirit in the team, Kwara United will finish among the top two teams in the country at the end of the current season.

It was a game of fewer chances in the first half but a more relaxed and coordinated Kwara United finished the half with a 1-0 lead.

After a fantastic Kwara United team play that saw Kadiri got the ball and hit it toward the Enyimba goal, an effort that had Danbani heading away from Olorunleke Ojo in the 17th minute to give the homers the lead.

Danbani would have made it 2-0 in the 23rd minute but glided the opportunity over the bar after meeting Abdulafeez Musa’s beautiful pass.

The 2nd half restarted with Enyimba pegging Kwara United to their area and made them to defend heavily before the hosts wrestled the possession away from the visitors.

Enyimba Sadiq Abubakar hit the woodwork in the 58th minute in one of the fewer chances created by the visitors but Finidi George’s decision to introduce Cyril Olisema in place of Austin Oladapo gave Kwara United control of the game.

The duo of Kabiru Balogun and Samad Kadiri were handful for Enyimba for most parts of the 2nd half of the explosive encounter.

There was exchange of fair tackles in the closing stage of the match as centre referee allowed play to go to the admiration of soccer fans at the Kwara Stadium Complex.
