Deputy Governor unveils Kwara SWAN Media Games logo

Kwara state government has said that it will not renege in its drive to promote sports and youth development, especially from the grassroots.

The State’s Deputy Governor, Mr Kayode Alabi stated this yesterday while unveiling the Logo for the 5th edition of the Kwara SWAN Media Games, scheduled for the State Stadium Complex, Ilorin between October 6th to 9th.

Mr Alabi said the present administration, under Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq would not relent in providing the conducive atmosphere for sports to thrive in the State.

He reiterated the government’s determination to partner relevant stakeholders to improve on the milestones recently achieved in the sector, to guarantee its sustainability.

Earlier, the Chairman of the Main Organizing Committee (MOC),  Mallam Bola Mogaji said the competition was created as a platform for media workers in the state to improve healthy living through various sporting activities, and to further cement the relationship among media workers.

Mallam Magaji who doubles as the Executive Chairman of the Kwara State Sports Commission said this year’s edition would feature football, volleyball, tennis, table tennis, badminton, dart, draft, ayo, chess and scrabble, while a lecture preceding the games, on importance of exercise stress management would be delivered by Pharmacist Lanre Alege on Wednesday October 6th, at the Conference Room of the Sports Commission.He solicited for the support of the state government towards a hitch free of the Championship.
