The 4rd edition of Dr. Chukwudi Ogbolu U-12 Kids Cup (CKC) will kick-off in Ilorin, the Kwara state capital on the 10th of December, 2023, with the final coming up on 17th December, 2023.

The annual boys soccer tournament, which is geared towards discovery and nurturing of young talents at the grassroots is being sponsored by Dr. Chukwudi Ogbolu, a Medical Practitioner, Philanthropist and a lover of kiddies football. The motto of this year’s edition is ‘Enriching The Sporting And Academic Life Of The Nigerian Kid.’

16 highly reputable grassroots Kiddies’ Academies have been invited for the competition. The Most Valuable Player would be awarded a one year academic scholarship. The organizer of tournament, LaLiga trained Coach Soni Ahamioje, promises a unique tournament to discover and nurture young new talents from the age of 8 to 12 years.

Due to the prevailing economic climate in the country, the sponsor of the tournament has graciously trippled the prize money for this year’s edition. It is a novel tournament as the registration for the tournament is free and all participating teams will get an appearance fee.

In addition, the best eight teams will be given FIFA standard soccer balls. According to him, it is going to be total football coupled with good soccer artistry, entertainment, skills, color and glamor.

At the end of the competition, the Best Players will be sponsored to partake in the screening of U12 boys for YSFON national competitions, as well as the NPFL/LALIGA U12 Promises. He also promised to organize a hitch-free tournament that will be worthy of emulation.

The sponsor of the competition, Dr. Chukwudi Ogbolu, the Life Patron of Arsenal Kiddies Football Academy, an adorable father and a lover of children is greatly concerned about the well-being of every Nigerian kid. He has promised to continue to support the academic and sporting life of the Nigerian child with his God-given resources. In recognition of their efforts and dedication in caring for the kids, the sponsor has donated official T-Shirts to the Tournament Youth Coaches forum.

While thanking the sponsor of the competition, Mr. Ahamioje called on the well-to-do in the society, including those in the diaspora to emulate the philanthropic spirit of Dr. Chukwudi Ogbolu and assist the children and youths in both their sporting and academic programs.

“Please join us as we look forward to a successful and memorable 4th edition of the Dr. Chukwudi Ogbolu U-12 Kids Cup Tournament”, he added.
