Jide Fatokun pens farewell message to Kwara United, Kwarans

Former Kwara United Football Club midfielder Jide Fatokun has penned a farewell message to his former club after teaming up with Remo Stars Football Club for the 2023/2024 Nigeria Premier League season.

Fatokun spent four seasons with Kwara United, one season more than what he signed for in 2019, as his attempt to join Remo Stars was resisted last season following Kwara United’s participation in the Confederation Cup competition.

In a farewell message signed by the midfielder, he appreciated Kwarans, and everyone identified with the club.

“It’s really hard and painful to put this together, but it’s important and needful.

“I wish to express my deepest appreciation to entire Kwarans and everyone identified with Kwara United Football Club for the immense love I’ve got in the last couple of years.

“I cherish all the love and kindness I have shared with great Kwara people and supporters.

“Significantly, we have achieved a lot since wearing the coveted Kwara United jersey, boosted with motivation, inspiration, and unending sacrifices from you all.

“Passionately, I take incredible pride every time I pull on this shirt, to lead the team, to represent this institution, one of the biggest clubs in Nigerian football. It was an honour only bestowed upon a few lucky footballers.

“It’s been an unforgettable and successful period. Now, it’s the right time to undertake a new challenge, to push myself again in new surroundings.

Kwara United will always be in my heart, Kwara has shaped me and will never leave me. We have seen it all, ” he stressed.

The midfielder was instrumental to Kwara United Football Club’s four years campaign in Nigerian football, as the most consistent over the four seasons stay, and the most decorated, winning SWAN award in 2011, and several awards from the club.
