Five key coaching behaviours have been identified in respect of coaches and players relationship in football, which largely affects the development of the round leather game, and most importantly, the end result at the long run.
Speaking during a seminar packaged for coaches and players of Kwara United Football Club at the Main-Bowl of the Kwara State Stadium Complex yesterday, former BCC Lions of Gboko and Super Eagles player, Moses Kpakor averred that the major responsibility of a coach is to develop his players.
The seminar was put together by the management of the club for the players and technical crew, as part of the preparations for the forthcoming 2021/2022 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season.
Coach Kpakor mentioned the five key coaching behaviors to include favoritism, criticism, punishment/discipline, abusive coaching and reinforcement, all of which he said, will affect input and output of players, in terms of commitment.
He however, advised that players must be dedicated to their job as professional footballers, adding that hard work comes before money.
“Players must live all their life for the round leather game, while fame and money will follow in earnest.
The Chief Coach, Ashifat Sulaiman commend Kwara United management, under the leadership of Kumbi Titiloye, for the opportunity, which he described as unique.
“Learning is a continuous process, and that’s why we must commend the management for giving us this type of orientation, especially as the new season approaches.
He also praise Coach Kpakor for delivering good and useful tips for players and coaches of the club.
