Kwara State Football Association has commended Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and Senator Oyelola Yisa Ashiru for their giant strides in sports development in the state, which according to him, is impacting positively on the youths.

The Chairman of the FA, Mallam Idris Abdullahi Musa Thuraya made the commendation while inspecting Offa Sports Centre, a facility that has a 5-a-side Covered Football Pitch, Handball and Basketball Court and Swimming Pool, facilitated by Senator Ashiru, as part of his Constituency Project, yesterday, Sunday February 16, 2025.

Thuraya, who, along with his entourage, who includes Ahmed Abdullah, Bayour Issah, Azeez Olarenwaju Omoluabi and the Chairman of Offa Football Council, Alhaji Wasiu Bisi Lawal, visited Senator Ashiru in his house after the inspection, thanked him for broadening the youth development platforms in the state.

“We are happy with the development, which is strategic towards the overall progress and growth of the youth. And this is also coming at a time the State Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq in planning to renovate and modernise Offa Stadium.

The project, situated at the Old Park in Offa, is being constructed by Confetti Assets Limited, with the Federal Ministry of Sports Development as client.

In his reaction, Senator Ashiru described Governor AbdulRazaq’s Offa Stadium renovation plans as marvellous.

“I trust His Excellency, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for the initiative. He will surely accomplish it because he like the youths, and loves Offa so much.

“If you drive round Offa, it’s like a construction site. What else do you need from a government more than infrastructure and development”, he added.
