Kwara State Sports Commission charges YSFON to venture into other sports, LGAs

The Executive Chairman of the Kwara state Sports Commission, Mallam Bola Magaji has charged Youth Sports Federation of Nigeria (YSFON) Kwara state chapter to venture into other sports apart from football

Magaji made the charge today, when the executives of the Federation paid courtesy call  on the Commission to appreciate them on their support to YSFON so far.

The Executive Chairman who commended YSFON for their grassroots sports development programs, urging it to go into other sports and spread its tentacles to other Local Government Areas

Magaji emphasized the need to encourage the youth to take education along with sports so that they will have something to fall on in the later parts of their lives.

He said the Commission is making plans to go into other Local Government Areas, to encourage participation in sports by youth across the state.

Making his remark, the Director General of the Commission, Dr. Steve Olarinoye disclosed that the Commission plans to go into tertiary institutions in the state to encourage and involve the youth more in sports participation.

While responding to a request by YSFON, member, Dr. Jaja for stadia to be located in the Local Government Areas, the Director General disclosed the Commission has it in their plans to create sports centres in the three senatorial districts in the state.

Earlier, Kwara YSFON Chairman, Prince Ademola Kiyesola appreciated the Commission for the support to YSFON in the just concluded Kwara State Commissioner of Police Cup soccer competition, and for the good work in their short time in office.

Kiyesola commended the Commission, and by extension, the state government, for the appointment of Mallam Ibrahim Bako, a member of YSFON and a keen grassroots sportsman, as the Sole Administrator of Kwara Football Academy.
