Monthly keep fit exercise assisting capacity building at MINILS -DG

The monthly keep fit exercise for members of staff of Michael Imuodu Institute for Labour Studies (MINILS) has been described as a platform that is assisting the improvement and building of capacity at work.

Addressing participants after the April ending exercise last Saturday at the premises of the institute, the Director General, Comrade Issa Aremu, who was represented by the Deputy Director, Academics and Distance Learning Programme, Dr. Adamade Sylvanus thanked the participants for sustained the culture.

Dr. Adamade equally thanked the Director General for introducing the monthly exercise, which he said, has continued to boost capacity at the institute.

Comrade Issa Aremu revived the sports culture at the institute, and equally introduced the monthly keep fit exercise, which he said, was in line with the directives of the Federal Head of Service.

Describing the exercise as the cornerstone for building healthy workforce, Dr. Adamade commended members of staff of MINILS for sustaining the culture, even as he called for more participation in the exercise.

Dr. Adamade, together with the Head of Department of Enterpreneurship Development, Mr. Ajayi Adeyemi Rasaq, led other members of staff to observe the walking, jogging and aerobics exercises, being coordinated by Coach Niyi Awe of the Kwara State Sports Commission and Pharmacist Lanre Alege.

The participants were lectured on tips about High Blood Pressure and various preventive measures, and equally advised to imbibe the culture of regular check ups, by Pharmacist Lanre Alege.
