Kwara United charges technical crew, staff on 2023/2024 NPL, seeks support of SWAN

The new Secretary of Kwara United Football Club, Mr Tajudeen Oyewale Obalola has charged the technical crew members and staffers of the team, to step up preparations ahead of the commencement of the 2023/2024 Nigeria Premier League (NPL).

In separate deliberations with the technical crew, the staffers and members of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) in his office today, Friday July 14th, 2023, Mr Obalola calls for support of all, noting that the team has to work hard to bridge gap of the lost grounds.

While addressing the technical crew led by Coach Kabir Sulaiman Dogo, he charged them to sum up their preparations in consideration of the commencement date of the NPL, even as he tasked them to work together in order to achieve the set goals.

“Considering the time given for the start of the new league season, we have to hit the ground running. I assure you that you will have the free hand needed in doing your job. You will also get all the support needed from the government and the Sports Commission.

While meeting the backroom staff and other staffers, Mr Obalola appealed to them on commitment to work and seriousness, even as he asked the backroom staff to re-apply for the job.

He commended SWAN members for their support for sports development in the state, especially to Kwara United, as he pledged to ensure a seamless transition, following the dissolution of the Board.

“I wasn’t brought here to witch-hunt anybody. No. We will need the advice, support and suggestions of all stakeholders, in redeeming the image of the club.

Mr Obalola said that every hand must be on deck to ensure the team performs well in the forthcoming season, adding that the sacrifices demanded of everybody was because of the club, and not because of individual or group of individuals.

He thanked the Executive Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and the Executive Chairman of the Kwara State Sports Commission, Mallam Bola Mogaji for considering him worthy of championing the transition.
