The management of the Kwara United Football Club has pledged to raise standards on all fronts, all to make people, primarily investors, identify with the club.
Chairman of the Club, Kumbi Titiloye, while receiving the new Executive members of the Supporters Club in his office today, added that the Supporters group would be carried along in all the processes towards achieving the desired results.
He charged the Supporters Club to be sincere in all their dealings, and to support the aspirations of the management.
He said that the club would clamp down heavily on trouble makers during its home matches this coming season, even as he sought their support in doing so. He charged them to work closely with the Marketing Department on the issue of gate-takings during home matches.
He also said that discipline would be their watchword, as players and officials will be given the enabling atmosphere to do the club and state proud, but added that the club will not hesitate to sanction anyone found wanting.
Titiloye said that the club’s target in the coming season was to pick a continental ticket and win the Aiteo Cup, adding that the target can only be easily achieved with the support of the Supporters Club.
Earlier, the Chairman of the Supporters Club, Waheed Saliu, popularly known as Obe, commended the state government for sustaining the club and the management for signing quality players ahead of the new season.
He raised concern on the issues of crowd control during matches, gate-takings, as he also tasked the team to pursue its objectives with all the seriousness it deserves.
The body also tasked the team to break the Aiteo Cup jinx in the new season, pointing that the club has not gone beyond the quarter-finals in all its participation in the Premier competition.
While pledging to support and work closely with the management in achieving the objectives, they thanked them for assisting them in repairing their bus.
