The Youth Sports Federation of Nigeria (YSFON), Kwara State branch has honoured the Executive Chairman of the Kwara State Sports Commission, Mallam Bola Adisa Magaji with the position of Patron of the Association.
The honour, according to YSFON, is in recognition of his immense contributions to sports development in the state and across Nigeria.
The investiture ceremony, which took place recently, was attended by prominent sports administrators, government officials, and stakeholders in grassroots sports.
In his address, the Chairman of Kwara YSFON, Prince Ademola Kiyesola highlighted the numerous contributions of Coach Magaji to the growth of sports in Kwara State. He emphasized that the appointment was well deserved, considering Magaji’s dedication and efforts in nurturing young talents and promoting sports excellence.
Prince Kiyesola further stated that YSFON’s decision to honour Coach Magaji aligns with its vision of reshaping and repositioning grassroots sports development in Kwara State. He assured that the association would continue to work with relevant stakeholders to provide a solid foundation for young athletes in various sports disciplines.
“YSFON believes that with Coach Magaji assuming the role of Patron, the body is set to benefit from his wealth of experience, strategic leadership, and passion for youth development in sports.
“His involvement is expected to further strengthen the association’s initiatives in scouting, training, and mentoring young athletes across various sporting disciplines.
“YSFON remains committed to fostering a vibrant sporting culture in Kwara State by organizing grassroots competitions, talent discovery programs, and youth empowerment initiatives. The recognition of Coach Magaji as Patron is a testament to his enduring legacy in sports development and a step towards greater achievements in the sector.
In his response, Coach Magaji expressed profound gratitude to YSFON Kwara for the honor, acknowledging the association’s role in grassroots sports development. He pledged his full support and collaboration with YSFON to discover and nurture hidden talents at the grassroots.
Coach Magaji reiterated his commitment to advancing youth sports in the state and urged the leadership of YSFON Kwara to remain steadfast in their mission of promoting sports development across the state and beyond. He assured them of his continued assistance in ensuring that young athletes in Kwara reach their full potential.
