KWASU flags off cycling activities tomorrow

The Vice Chancellor, Kwara State University, Malete, Professor Muhammed Mustapha Akanbi SAN will tomorrow, Thursday 18th August 2021 flag off cycling activities at the University Main Campus, in Malete.

The program is part of the efforts of Professor Akanbi’s administration towards promoting wellness and fitness among the University staff and students.

The program is being organized by the University’s Center for Wellness and Creative Arts Therapy.

The Director of the Center, Dr. Khadijat Toyin Musah said that the Center was ready and well equipped to positively engage both staff and students of the institution in activities that will promote wellness and fitness.

She explained that the center will continue to organize activities that will get the students busy with extra curricula activities thereby, keeping them away from social vices.

She added that the cycling activities was among the well planned program of the Center aiming to promote the ecosystems.

she said that the cycling activity is part of the components of the general efforts at creating awareness for sports and other supporting activities, as the Centre has introduced some activities and clubs which includes Cycling Club, Dance Group, Emergency Responders Group, Red Cross, Road Marshal, Taekwondo and karate Clubs, Mental health talk box, and Kickboxing Club among others.

Dr. Musah further explained that the Center will create enabling environment for interested staff and students of the University, as well as the opportunity to engage in regular wellness activities to enhance their well-being.

Dr Musah said that the institution has enough bicycles for the students and staff, adding that they have engaged the services of instructors that will train the participants.

She commended the Vice Chancellor’s foresight in creating the Center and assured that the objectives for creating it will be vigorously pursued.
