The Chairperson of Female football Development Committee of the Kwara State Football Association, Hajia Rukayat Segilola Lola Alaya has pledged to justify her consideration for the membership of the Nigeria Women Football League, even as she called for support of all.
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) yesterday appointed Board members for the Nigeria National League (NNL), Nigeria Nation-Wide League One, and the Nigeria Women Football League, with Hajia Alaya named among the seven members to run the Nigeria Women Football League.
The newly constituted Nigeria Women Football League will be led by Mrs Nkechi Nneka Obi as Chairman. Others are Hajiya Hussaina Suleman (Vice Chairman); Alhaja Rukayat Segilola Lola Alaya (Member); FIFA Hadiza Musa (Member); Mr. Ayodele Thomas (Member); Ms Henrietta Ehiobor (Member) and Mr. Danny Nazzal (Member).
Nkechi Nneka Obi is a renowned Marketing Expert.
Hajia Alaya, who is Kwara State Chairperson of the Female Football Interest Group (FFIG) and Founder of Abruka Female Football Club in the state has contributed immensely to the development of girl-child in the state and Nigeria.
While reacting to the appointment, which she says is a big plus to Kwara and her sacrifice for the development of female football, Hajia Alaya commended the Kwara FA Chairman, Mallam Idris Abdullahi Musa for his support, adding that the position coming to Kwara at his time as Chairman means a lot.
“I am grateful to our FA Chairman, Mallam Idris Abdullahi Musa for his support for the development of female football, the result of which has started manifesting, with this appointment. I want to equally thank the Executive Secretary of the NPFL Club Owners Association, Chief Alloy Chukwuemeka, the Nwachigoziri 1.
“I also want to thank the state government, being led by our Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, and the Executive Chairman, Kwara State Sports Commission, Mallam Bola Mogaji for providing us the enabling environment to develop female football.
She pledged to be the good ambassador of the state and the girl-child in general, in the state, and Nigeria at large.
Hajia Alaya, while thanking the Nigeria Football Federation for the opportunity to contribute to the development of female football in the country commended the outgone Chairman of the Nigeria Women Football League, Aishat Falode for her support.
The Board, alongside the two other Boards will be inaugurated once the President of NFF, Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau returns to the country from continental assignments in Morocco and Cote d’Ivoire.
