Christopher Nwaeze, who is the Captain of Kwara United has tendered an apology to all Kwarans and fans for the decisive penalty he missed against Rangers International today, in the Matchday Five of the NPFL, decided in Ilorin.

Kwara United today missed the chance to go second on the NPFL standings after been forced to a 1-1 draw by the Enugu based club.

Having picked a point in their last away game at Abia Warriors, the expectation of all Kwarans was for the Harmony Boys to beat the Antelopes, but the visitors used their bulletproof well in Ilorin.

Samuel Chisom sent the home faithfuls into wide jubilation in the 31st minute, but the visitors restored parity in the 49th minute through Ossy Martins.

Kwara United had the chance to win the game when they got a penalty later on, but Chris Nwaeze missed it as his strike hit the bar.

Efforts by Kwara United players to get the winning goal proved abortive as Rangers players defended well.

Responding to the penalty he missed which would have given Kwara United the three points, Nwaeze explained that he felt sad for disappointing the fans.

“I am so sad and pained for the penalty I missed and I want to apologize to everyone for the disappointment and heartbreak I made you go through.

“My target is to always win every match as the Captain of this great club and I want to once again say sorry and promise that my teammates and I will make it up in the next game,” Nwaeze explained to Kwara United Media Team.

With the draw in Ilorin against Enugu Rangers, Kwara United now occupy fifth position on the log with 8 points after 5 games – 3 points behind leaders Remo Stars and will be traveling to Port Harcourt for next battle against Rivers United next Sunday.
