Offa Football Club today, Wednesday, April 16, 2025, unveiled coaches and players ahead of the commencement of the 2025 NLO season, just as the Chairman of the Local Government, Alhaji Sulaiman Olatunji Omintuntun pledges to support the cause of sports in the local area.
The unveiling ceremony, held at the Offa Descendants Union (ODU) Hall, also witnessed the setting of new sports development agenda for the Local Government by major stakeholders.
The Local Government Chairman, Alhaji Olatunji commended the team and other teams in the area for empowering the youth, as well as promoting a platform that reduces or eradicates social vices in the Local Government.
“This is a part of the achievements to measure progress in sports. I will want to charge the players, coaches, and managers of the team to see themselves as one big family, and make good use of the opportunity to work hard to elevate sports development in Offa.

While pledging continuous support for the development of sports, he thanked the state Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for prioritising the renovation and modernisation of the Oloffa Stadium in Offa in the 2025 budget.
The Chairman of Offa Football Club, Alhaji Azeez Olarenwaju Omoluabi commended the Chairman for his efforts so far in the area too, as he called for support for the club and other NLO clubs in the Local Government.
He equally called for support for other sports, pledging that Offa Football Club will do the Local Government Area proud in the forthcoming Nlo season.
Alhaji Omoluabi also thanked the ODU, and sought for their support, and that of the Local Government as the team plans to play the Flying Eagles in a friendly match in Abuja after the Egypt 2025 AFCON championship.
The club unveiled the Head Coach, Folorunsho Stephen John, his first Assistant, Bola Opoola and 14 new players, who will be joining 18 old. players, to make the total players registered for the season at 32.

The Head Coach, Folorunsho Stephen John, who relished the opportunity to handle the team, said that he accepted the job because, according to him, it will guarantee him freedom to work, and express his tactical sivviness.
Among those present at the unveiling ceremony were Alhaji (Chief) Lanre Shittu, who is the Otun Akoni of Offa, and Chairman of ODU, Home Branch, Alhaji Tajudeen Ibilola Bello, National Vice President I, ODU, and Hon. Mustapha Sarafa, the Speaker, Offa Local Government Council.
Others include, the Offa Football Council, Alhaji Wasiu Bisi Lawal, his Secretary, Mr. Olaolu Oyawoye, and other members, Muideen Adebisi and Lekan Olatinwo, Chairman of Leycon FA, Michu and others.
The 2025 NLO season is expected to kick off this month, in Ilorin, with 17 clubs jostling for honours.
