Sports Commission assures Kwara SWAN of support, ahead Media Games

The Kwara State chapter of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) has been assured of support by the State Sports Commission, especially ahead of the forthcoming 5th Media Games which has been scheduled to hold between October 6th to 9th, 2021.

The Executive Chairman of the Commission, Mallam Bola Mogaji, while receiving SWAN executives on a courtesy call in his office this morning pledged harmonious and rewarding relationship with SWAN.

He also pledged to support the body in organising a befitting Media Games, even as he added that all efforts will be geared towards assisting SWAN to complete it’s State Secretariat project.

He thanked the sports writing body for appointing him as the Chairman of the Main Organizing Committee for the Media Games.

Mallam Mogaji commended the body for introducing the Games, which he said, will make people to realize that sports  journalists can also do sports, apart from writing it.

Also praising SWAN, the Director General of the Commission, Dr Steve Olarinoye described the sports writers as partners in the development of sports.

Earlier, the State SWAN Chairman, Jimoh Bashir had congratulated members of the Commission on their appointment, and reminded them that they would need to lay solid foundation for the Commission, been the pioneer members.

He seeks the support of the Kwara State government as well as the Commission, in completing the State Secretariat of the body, and for the forthcoming 2021 Kwara SWAN Media Games.

Also present are Mr Bakare A. S, Hon. Lanre Elijah, who are both members of the Commission, the Secretary of SWAN, Yinka Owolewa, the Vice Chairman, Toyin Saheed, Mr Kayode Okunola, the Treasurer, Abdulrosheed Okiki and Ojomu Idowu.
