SWAN Award: Sportspro News boss promises to do more for sports development

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Publisher of Sportspro News, Bayour Issah has promised not to relent in his efforts at advocating and promoting sports development in Kwara state and Nigeria at large.

The veteran sportscaster made this remarks after receiving an Award of Excellence on Friday, at the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) Kwara state chapter Award Night.

He thanked the SWAN leadership in the state, saying the honour will further spur him to do more for the development of the industry.

“I would like to thank the leadership of SWAN for this recognition and assure them that it will further strengthen my resolve in contributing my own quota to the development of sports in the state” he said.

According to the organizers, the award was done in honour and recognition of his outstanding contributions to the development of the sports industry.

Meanwhile, it was a massive night for Sportspro News family as a product of the outfit, Abdul Momoh Sportspro also won the Best Photo Journalist of the year.

The event also saw the investiture of Prince Oladimeji Thompson as the new Kwara State Pillar of Sports, with athletes, coaches, referee, royal fathers, fans and administrators also bagging honours.

Organised by the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Kwara state chapter, the event was initiated by the Jimoh Bashir-led administration in a bid to honour people that have contributed immensely to development of sports in the state
