Volleyball: Kada Kings, Kwara United ignites rivalry at Super Cup

Kada Kings will face Kwara United VC in the Men’s opening match of the 2022 Nigeria Volleyball Super taking place at the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos state by 3.00pm today.

Kada Kings beat Kwara United VC to lift the 2021 National Division 1 League in Abuja.

Speaking after the technical meeting, the Head Coach of Kada Kings, Jonathan Thaj said winning the match against Kwara United will stamp their dominance.

Thaj said the Super Cup is intended to make the players have a feel of the Premier League standard before making it’s debut.

He said, “We know Kwara United and their style of play; Kada Kings wants to use this Super Cup to stamp their dominance against the Kwara United team.

“As you all know they Kada Kings are playing in this year’s Nigeria Volleyball Premier League; this Super Cup will prepare the minds of the players.”

Meanwhile, the Head Coach of Kwara United VC, Adewale Badamosi revealed his boys are not in Lagos to make the numbers.

Badamosi said Kwara United have been training for the Super Cup since last December, adding that his side is prepared to stun Kada Kings.

In the Women’s opening match, newly promoted Kwara United will trade tackles with COAS Spikers by 5pm.

Six Men’s team; Kano Pillars, Nigeria Customs Service, Kada Kings, Kwara United, Wikki Spikers of Bauchi and Offa VC are participating in the Super Cup, while five Women’s team are; Nigeria Customs Service, Kwara United, COAS Spikers, Zamfara Babes and Nigeria Immigration Service.

DAY 1 FIXTURES
Kwara United VC v Kada Kings (Men) 3pm

Kwara United VC v COAS Spikers (Women) 5pm.
