2nd edition of Dr Chukwudi Ogbolu U-12 Kids Cup kicks off December 12


The 2nd edition of Dr. Chukwudi Ogbolu U-12 Kids Cup (CKC) will kick off in Ilorin, Kwara state on 12th December, 2021. 

The one week kiddies soccer fiesta is geared towards the discovery, nurturing and exposing young talents’ at the grassroots. 

The annual children football competition is being sponsored by Dr. Chukwudi Ogbolu, a USA-based medical practitioner, philanthropist and a lover of kiddies football.

Sixteen grassroots Kiddies’ Academies have been invited  for this year’s edition and the Most Valuable Player (MVP) will be awarded one year academic scholarship. 

The organizer of tournament, Coach Soni Ahamioje said it is a unique avenue to hunt and nurture young talents from the age of 8 to 12 years. 

It is a novel tournament as the registration for the yearly soccer event is free and all participating teams will get appearance fee.

According to him, ‘it is going to be total football couple with creative soccer artistry, entertainment, skills, color and glamor’. At the end of the competition, the best players will be sponsored to partake in the zonal screening of National U-12 boys.

The winners of the 1st edition, Kwara United U-12 La Liga boys, have promised to work hard in order to retain the beautiful trophy.

Coach Soni Ahamioje also promised to organize a hitch-free tournament that will be worthy of emulation. 

While thanking the sponsor of the competition, Ahamioje called on the well to do in the society to emulate the philanthropic spirit of Dr. Chukwudi Ogbolu and assist our children and youths in both sporting and academic activities.
