Aiyenugba relishes two clean sheets, as Ohanu wins MVP in Enyimba tie

Former Super Eagles goalkeeper, Dele Aiyenugba relishes his clean sheet against former club, Enyimba FC of Aba in a rescheduled NPFL Week Two encounter in Ilorin on Wednesday.

Kwara United FC defeated Enyimba FC by a lone goal in the crucial match, and that was the second consecutive match for Aiyenugba in Kwara United colours, as he recorded a clean sheet against Jigawa Golden Stars in Kaduna last Sunday.

‘I thank God for the feat, but I will want to attribute it to the effort of all the players and the technical crew, because it’s a collective job’, he said.

‘I will want to thank the League Management Committee (LMC) and Kwara United for giving me the opportunity to come back to the domestic league after many years abroad. it’s a remarkable experience.

While reacting to been in goal against his former club, Aiyenugba said that it was a great emotion, which he did not find easy, even as he expressed delight that Kwara United won the game.

‘I was great playing against the club that gave me a great opportunity, the emotion was great, but winning the game is commendable.

There was serious jubilation at the Kwara state stadium as Kwara United recorded a 1-0 win over visiting Enyimba.

The victory over Enyimba was Kwara United’s first home win this season in the NPFL, having played a 1-1 draw against Akwa United last week in what was a disappointing result.

Harmony Boys started the match impressively and it took them only five minutes for Stephen Jude to score after connecting perfectly with a superb pass from Michael Ohanu.

Enyimba mounted serious pressure in the second half looking for all possible ways to restore parity, but they would have the wood work to thank at the death for Gata not to score the second goal for Kwara United after a superb counter attack.

Kwara United coach expressed satisfaction with his wards’ performance against Enyimba claiming that there is room for improvement.

‘My players were relaxed against Akwa United in our first home game and that was the reason they faced Enyimba will full strengths and thanks to God for us to have gotten the three needed points,’ Biffo explained.

Michael Ohanu was selected as the Most Valuable Player in the crucial encounter, providing the assist for the lone goal, and capping it up with great performance.

‘I am glad to be selected as the MVP, and this is also a challenge for me to do more’, ha had said.
