The annual reunion Novelty Match, which was introduced to further boost togetherness and unity among old and new players of the outfit will be sustained, the sponsor, Barrister Ibrahim Atanda confirmed to sportsbash.com.ng.
Barrister Atanda, while speaking with newsmen after this year’s tradition at the Main-Bowl of the Kwara State Stadium Complex in Ilorin said that the reunion, which began ten years ago always relives memorable memories about the players and the matches played.
He also described the game of football as an important factor for the sustenance of the get-together.
“In any given society, football is one of the very important factors that bring people together. And at any event that involves football, there is love, and there is unity.
“And we strongly intend to continue to sustain this platform, for the promotion of unity and love that we have started for over 40years ago when the club was formed.
“The purpose was to ensure that all the ex-players and the current players come together every year, to also promote the progress of the club.
Barrister Atanda, who was the pioneer Captain of International Youth Football Club played for the club for over 17 years, and he said that the reunion every year brings back the sweet memories of the past.
“These memories are being relived every time we have the reunion, with our club having played against teams like Folley Babes, Santana FC, United Bombers, Santos FC, Juventus, Orient FC and others, some of which are now defunct.
