Kwara FA Congress commends Gov AbdulRazaq, passes vote of confidence on Thuraya

Kwara State Football Association has commended the state Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for creating and sustaining an all-round sports development culture that captures infrastructure, support for the system and monitoring.

The commendation was contained a seven-point Communique drawn at the end of the Congress of the Kwara State Football Association on Sunday, January 9th, 2025, at the Secretariat of the Football House.

The Communique was signed by the quartet of Chief Alloy Chukwuemeka (Chairman), representing the Nigeria National League (NNL), Sunday Adetayo (Moro), Moshood Morawo (Ilorin East) and Jimoh Salaudeen (Ekiti).

The Congress commended the state Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for his sports development efforts, especially infrastructural support programmes, including the recent approved renovation and upgrading of Offa and Lafiagi Stadiums in the 2025 budget.

The Congress endorsed the full implementation of all grassroots football protocols in the organisation of competitions, and equally charged the Local Football Councils to take charge of proceedings in their domains, and give cognissance to nurturing of coaches, referees and other stakeholders, to enhance proper growth, as well as giving reports to State FA accordingly.

The Congress charged that all grassroots football development rules, including but not limited to laid down rules are followed tenaciously, with regards to defined aims and objectives, tailored towards genuine development of the system.

The Congress passed a vote of confidence on the Chairman of Kwara State Football Association, Mallam Idris Abdullahi Musa, popularly known as Thuraya, for his leadership style and quality.

Considering the contributions and credentials of all the 16 Local Football Councils, the Chairman of Lafiagi Football Council, Mallam Manzuma Malik was unanimously voted as the Best Local Football Council Chairman in Kwara state in the year under review.

The Congress henceforth, agreed and sanctioned that all grassroots football competitions must be organised and managed with the usage of certified coaches, badged referees, provision of security, ambulance and other protocols, to ensure values are added to the competitions, in line with the organisation of association football worldwide.

The FA assured on the completion of all pending competitions, as well as creation of additional competitions and platforms, to broaden talent discovery and nurturing platforms in the state, with the pledge to partner relevant individuals and organisations in sustaining the initiative.
