The former and present Kwara State Directors of Sports has congratulated Mallam Hameed Adio on his 70th birthday anniversary
The statement issued by Mallam Tunde Kazeem, on behalf of the former and present Directors of Sports, praised Mallam Hameed Adio (OLY) for his remarkable contributions to sports administration, culture, and youth development in the state and beyond.
The statement read, “As we celebrate Mallam Hameed Adio on his 70th birthday, we are praying for sound health, happiness, long life, prosperity and peace of mind. The legacy laid down by Mallam Hameed Adio as an athlete, administrator and journalist cannot be downplayed in the sports fraternity.
“Mallam Hameed Adio’s contributions have left an indelible mark on Nigerian sports, and for that, we are forever grateful.”
It read, “Mallam Hameed Adio is not just a former colleague; but a visionary leader. Throughout his career, he demonstrated an unwavering commitment to the growth of sports and youth development in Kwara State and beyond.
“His leadership as the Commissioner for Information, Youth, Sports and Culture was nothing short of transformative. It was during his time as Director of Sports that Kwara hosted the All African Women’s Volleyball Championship; an event that placed our state firmly on the African sports map.”
“His tenure as the General Manager of NTA 5 Abuja further cemented his position as a key figure in Nigerian sports media. He ensured that the stories of our athletes and teams reached a wider audience, giving them the recognition they deserved.”
Kazeem remarked, “As an Olympian, Mallam Adio understood the unique struggles of our sportsmen and women; congratulations to a legend at 70.
