Kwara State Football Association has condoled with the entire people of Erin-Ile, over the death of the Elerin of Erin-Ile, Oba AbdulGaniyu Ajibola Olusokun II, MFR joined his ancestors on Saturday May 20th, 2023.
The late First class Monarch died at the age of 81.
In a condolence message signed by the Chairman of the Football controlling body in the state, Mallam Idris Abdullahi Musa, Kwara FA said that the demise of the Royal Father has created a vacuum in the football development platforms of the state and Nigeria.
According to Mallam Idris, popularly known as Thuraya, “the late Monarch has impacted meaningfully in the development and empowerment of the youth through sports, especially football even beyond the shores of the country”.
The late Elerin, it would be recalled, championed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with a German community, on the empowerment of girl-child through football, which gave rise to Moje Queens of Erin-Ile.
“The football fraternity in the state will miss the contributions of the late Royal Father, who passionately identified with the growth of sports, especially football.
“He used the platform to create a strong social engagement in the community and the state, and this we will continue to cherish”, he added.
The statement equally commiserated with Kwara State Governor, Mallam AbdulRaman AbdulRazaq, the Erin-Ile community, Oyun and Kwara Traditional Council and his immediate family, even as they prayed Almighty Allah to grant the deceased Aljannat-ul- Firdouz and give the family the fortitude to bear the loss.
