The Olomu of Omu-Aran and Ologbomona of Igbomina land, Oba Abdulraheem Oladele Adeoti has described football as a means of livelihood which is just beyond recreational sport.
Oba Adeoti said this on Sunday in Omu-Aran, while receiving members of the Kwara Football Association, led by its Chairman, Malam Idris Abdullahi Musa in his Palace.
The Traditional Ruler commended the Malam Idris Musa-led Executives for doing a great job to develop football in the state.
The first class traditional ruler urged the Kwara FA to sustain its giant strides in the development of the game, adding that the reward of their track records will continue to speak for them.
He pledged his unflinching support to the association and asked them to call on him whenever his services are needed.
In his remark, the Kwara FA Boss, Malam Idris Abdullahi Musa, thanked the Olomu of Omu-Aran, for being a sports lover and a developer of the youth through sports.
Malam Musa reminded the traditional ruler that he was in his Palace three and half years ago to seek his blessings, adding that he has come for another one because he is seeking reelection.
He urged the Olomu to help in ensuring that the election into the local councils is successful in Irepodun.
The Kwara FA Boss said he is aware of some of the support Oba Adeoti is giving to sports generally, adding that the association is doing all it can to ensure talents are discovered at the grassroots.
He said the last time the FA organised a competition to discover talents at the grassroots, 16 boys were picked across the state but only 10 of them won the scholarship to pursue their career at the Kwara Football Academy (KFA).
Earlier in his welcome address, the Chairman of Irepodun Football Council, Coach Niyi Oladipo described the FA Boss as a hard working man with huge interest in the development of the round leather game.
He also thanked Olomu of Omu-Aran for his support to the association and other sports in general in the community.
