The Executive Chairman, Mallam Bola Mogaji, while receiving officials of the Beach Soccer team, led by the Acting Chairman, Engineer Idris Jibril in his office yesterday said the Commission is ready to support any sport in the state.

He advised the officials of the team to spread their tentacles to schools where teams could be formed for competitions, so as to select the best and have replacements for the old players

Mallam Mogaji explained that for the team to be addressed as Kwara Beach Soccer team, the government must have input in the set up and running of the team.

Earlier, the Acting Chairman of the team, Engineer Idris Jibril explained that they were at the Commission to intimate the Executive Chairman of their plans as there was no way they will do something without his knowledge.

He solicited for support from the Commission as the team is getting set to take part in the first round of the National Beach Soccer league coming up in Kebbi state, adding that they cannot do it alone.

He explained that since the former Chairman of the Beach Soccer team in the state stepped aside, the other officials came together and had a meeting  where he was adopted as the Acting Chairman, because of the league billed to commence in a week time in Kebbi state and they want Kwara state to be represented.

He said although he has his own team, but for  the sake of unity, they decided collapse the two clubs to form one formidable team so that they could move forward.

He assured that when they return from the competition, they will approach the Commission to resolve the differences and  follow the directions of the Commission.

In his introductory speech, Mr Bayo Ahmed, who is the Secretary of the body disclosed that the purported Kwara State Beach Soccer team was an affiliate to the Kwara State Football Association as he described the current development as a new dawn in the struggle to build a viral team in the state.
