Kwara United Football Club U15 team has been charged to maintain and sustain the philosophy of the team as they prepare to participate in the 2023 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) LaLiga U15 Promises football competition holding in Ikenne, Ogun State.
The U15 teams of the 20 Premier League teams will converge in Ikenne for the youth football development programme which is part of the activities being staged to celebrate the partnership between the Nigeria and Spanish Leagues.
Before the departure of the team, the Chairman, Kumbi Titiloye, charged the players to play according to the rules and to be good ambassadors of the club and of the state.
“As you are aware, Kwara United FC is a team that encourages young players, and this competition is an opportunity for us to throw up yet another set of talented youngsters, and that’s why you all must prove yourselves in the competition.
16 out of the 20 NPFL clubs present in Ikenne have been drawn in four groups of four each, with Kwara United drawn in Group B alongside Akwa United, Sunshine Stars and Doma United.
The Group matches of the competition are expected to run between Thursday April 13th and Saturday April 22nd, with two teams expected to advance to the quarter-finals from the four groups.
The first and second quarter-finals will take place on April 24th, and the third and fourth quarter-finals will come up on 25th April, while the semi-final matches are scheduled for April 27th, 2023.
Third place and final matches will hold on April 29th, as the competition will be rounded off on April 30th, with an award night.
