Kwara SWAN celebrates Patron, Aluko at 65

The Kwara State chapter of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) felicitates one of its Patrons, Barrister Salihu Bamidele Aluko, who clocks 65 years today, Monday August 18, 2025.

In a congratulatory message signed by the Chairman of SWAN, Ayodeji Ismail, and the Assistant Secretary, Sodiq Adebara, the Association described Barrister Aluko as a dogged fighter, and one of the strong pillars of youth and sports development in the state.

Barrister Aluko is the former Chairman of Kwara United Football Club and former Board Chairman of the defunct Kwara State Sports Council.

He is also a former Board member of the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) and Patron of Kwara SWAN, as he has continued to serve as remarkable bridge builder in sports development in Kwara and Nigeria as a whole, especially in legal services.

“We celebrate one of our Patrons, Barrister Aluko on his 65th birthday anniversary. He is a dogged fighter and a patriot who is playing a critical role with others, in the betterment of sports in Kwara and beyond.

“On behalf of all sports writing fraternity in Kwara, we salute Barrister Aluko for his courage and great contributions to the longstanding struggle of our people for sports growth and direction in our state and nation.

“He is a tolerant, easy going, and hardworking person. He is a dependable individual and a bridge builder, as he has mediated in several forward-approaching issues as a sports statesman.

“SWAN prays to the Almighty God to grant Barrister Aluko more years in good health to see the blossoming of the positive fruits of his family and Kwara as a whole.

“May he continue to stand forth as an example to young leaders and may his statemanship virtue help guide and shape this state and nation as a whole.
