Kwara United gets Acting Secretary

Kwara State Sports Commission has appointed Mr Tajudeen Oyewale Obalola as Acting Secretary of Kwara United Football Club, pending the appointment of a substantive Board for the club.

The Board of the team, led by Kumbi Titiloye was dissolved last week by the government. The Board was inaugurated in August 2019, and was in charge for four seasons. 

According to the Commission’s Media Officer, Mr Yusuf Feruke, “this action became necessary following the dissolution of the Club’s management Board by the government and with the 2023/ 2024 NPFL season drawing closer.

“With this appointment, Mr Obalola will take charge of running of the Club till a substantive board is put in by the state government.

The release charged the stakeholders to give the Acting Secretary the needed support, rally round the team, and to support government’s bid to reposition the club.

“All relevant stakeholders in the state are therefore implored to give the Acting Secretary the needed support in the  task ahead.

His appointment, according to the release,  takes immediate effect as the former Secretary, Mr Hamidu Olowo has been recalled to the Commission.

Until his appointment as the Acting Secretary, Mr Obalola was the Facility Manager of the Kwara State Sports Commission.
