As Kwara United Football Club prepares to take on Wikki Tourists of Bauchi in the Matchday 23 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) encounter at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium in Kaduna tomorrow, Staurday April 16, 2022, players and the officials of the team have been charged to up their games.

The General Manager of the Club, Bashir Badawiy, who addresses both players and officials in the aftermath of the team’s 2-0 loss to Dakkada in Uyo and the dropped points against Plateau United in Ilorin said that much more is expected from the team, especially at this time in the league.

“The game against Dakkada FC in Uyo is a game we are not supposed to lose at all. And coming back home to drop points against Plateau United is not acceptable at all, and we have no excuse for that”, he said.

He reminded the players that the target set by the club this season needs to be met, and meeting such a target will require them to approach each of the remaining games in the race with renewed seriousness.

Badawiy, who said that he believed in the abilities of the players to deliver added that the remaining matches in the league is enough for the team to get back on track, starting from the Wikki Tourists’ encounter tomorrow in Kaduna.

“We all agreed before the season to give our best, and we should not relent, until that is achieved. We believe in you guys to do it, because we know your capabilities. You can do it, and I want us to start with the match against Wikki Tourists tomorrow.

He equally charged the technical crew, being led by Coach Usman Abdullahi Biffo to work harder, pointing out that the challenges ahead are much more crucial than expected.

Kwara United is currently fifth on the league table, with 35 points and just a goal advantage, and Badawiy believed that there is still a long way to go, in the realization of the overall objective this season.

“With our current placement on the table, coupled with the remaining fixtures, the chances are there, and we need to strive to take that chance.

Even as he agreed that there are serious challenges towards the realization of the set target, he urged the players and officials to endure and continue to sacrifice, as the management is working hard to tackle the challenges.

He commended the state Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, the Executive Chairman of the Kwara State Sports Commission, Mallam Bola Mogaji, Supporters, Fans and other stakeholders, for their support to the team.

After the Wikki Tourists encounter tomorrow, Kwara United will return home to face Abia Warriors in a midweek match in Ilorin, before leaving for Awka, to take on one of the top contenders in the title race, Rangers International.
