The Kwara State Football Association has announced that football activities in the state remained suspended till the leadership of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) officially uplift the suspension.

Federal Government finally lifts ban on football and other sports today, after seven months of lockdown.

In a tweet released on this evening, Nigerian Minister in charge of Sports, Sunday Dare reported that the ban imposed on football by the Presidential Task Force on Covid-19 has been lifted.

But the Chairman of the Association, Malam Idris Abdullahi Musa in a statement in Ilorin, said the return of football activities is yet to be confirmed by the Amaju Pinnick-led NFF board.

He noted football activities can only returned in the state if the NFF notify the association with an official letter and statement to relaunch proceedings.

Malam Musa also made it know that the FA will need further directives from the state government, through the Ministry of Sports and Youths Development, to re-open and make use of the sporting facilities at the Kwara State Stadium Complex, as he called on concerned stakeholders to cooperate and remain calm.

The Federal Government earlier today lifted ban on  contacts sports after the suspension of all sporting events for about seven months owing to the outbreak of Corona Virus.
