Addressing the players after their training session yesterday at the Olubadan Stadium, Badawiy commended the players for their commitment and sacrifice, especially on the prolonged resumption of the season, and other challenges.

He reminded the players of the team’s exploits last season, which earned them a CAF Confederation Cup ticket, and the need to build positively on the achievements recorded by the ub last season.

“On behalf of the management team, I want to thank all of you for your commitment and sacrifice, but you must know that the end will always justify the means, as we need to make this season count positively, to justify the sacrifice we invested.

“You are all also aware that we are playing the most difficult league this season, the Abridged League, and this calls for total commitment and concentration on and off the pitch of play.

Kwara United FC have been drawn in Group A of the Abridged League alongside Nasarawa United, Plateau United, Gombe United, El-Kanemi Warriors, Enyimba International FC, Akwa United, Bendel Insurance, Shooting Stars Sports Club and Remo Stars.

He added that the ultimate ingredients that will assist the players and the entire team to achieve set goals is for them to be disciplined, and remain focused at all times.

Badawiy commended the state government, being led by Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, the Sports Commission and the stakeholders for his support, and for keeping faith with the team.
