A member of the Kwara State Sports Commission and Chairman of Monimak Global Foundation, Monisola Makanjuola has commended the Kwara State Chapter of Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) for promoting sporting activities in the state.
Speaking in an event where she hosted members of.the Commission and SWAN members on Sunday, she revealed that her foundation seeks to partner with the ‘pen pushers’ in a bid to achieve its lofty goals of rescuscitating school sports as a way of reducing crime in the society.
“I believe SWAN are critical members of any Nation’s sporting family, and it’s important to partner with SWAN in order to achieve the desired results in sports development” says the former Nigeria International Handball player.
While appreciating her husband for his support, she commended the Governor of the State, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq for changing the narratives of sports development in the state, saying that his performance has inspired her to do more.
Also speaking at the event, the Executive Chairman of Kwara State Sports Commission, Coach Bola Magaji also lauded SWAN members for projecting the image of the state, as he promised that the Commission will not jettison thier ‘special status’ in the development of sports.
In his response, the Chairman of SWAN, Kwara state chapter, Mallam Jimoh Bashir while seeking for the stakeholders total cooperation in the discharge of their duties, reiterated the commitment of his members to a more professional and ethical sport reportage that will complement the efforts of the government.
