The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), has officially released the time-table and guidelines for its 2026 Elective Congress, with the elections scheduled to hold on Sunday, September 27, 2026, in Lafia, Nasarawa State.

According to the time-table issued on July 31, 2026, the electoral process commenced yesterday August 1, 2026, with the publication of the rules and guidelines as well as the sale of nomination forms to interested candidates.

The Federation also announced the fees for nomination forms for the various elective positions.

Candidates seeking the office of NFF President will pay ₦1,000,000, while those contesting for First Vice President will purchase forms at ₦800,000. Aspirants for the position of Chairman of Chairmen are to pay ₦600,000, while ordinary member aspirants will pay ₦500,000.

The time-table provides that the deadline for submission of nomination forms is August 12, after which the Electoral Committee will notify candidates of any irregularities in their documentation between August 13 and 19.

Candidates requiring corrections or regularization of their documents will have from August 20 to 27 to do so before the screening exercise, which is scheduled for August 28 to 30.

The list of cleared candidates will be published on August 31, while appeals arising from any disqualification will be entertained between September 1 and 3. The Appeals Committee is expected to determine all petitions from September 4 to 10, with the final list of cleared candidates to be released between September 11 and 12.

The NFF will publish the official delegates’ list on September 13, paving the way for electioneering campaigns from September 14 to 24. campaigns will officially end at 11:59 pm on September 25, two days before the polls.

The Elective Congress will take place on September 27 at 10:00 am, with accreditation of delegates beginning at 8:00 am in Lafia, Nasarawa State.

The Electoral Committee also fixed September 30, 2026, as the deadline for the submission of election petitions.

The release of the time-table effectively signals the commencement of activities leading to the election of a new NFF Executive Committee that will steer the affairs of Nigerian football for the 2026–2030 tenure.

The elections are expected to attract keen interest from stakeholders across the country’s football ecosystem as administrators seek to shape the future of the game over the next four years.
