NNL 2024/2025: NALCOMA okays new draw adjustment, commends stakeholders

Nigeria National League Club Owners and Managers Association (NALCOMA) has applauded all participating clubs for mutually agreeing on the proposed adjustments in both the Northern and Southern Conferences, ahead of the commencement of the 2024/2025 Nigeria National League (NNL).

In a statement by the President of NALCOMA, Godwin Enakhena, after consultations with the leadership of the NNL, and by extension, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), stakeholders and clubs, new adjustments have been proposed.

The adjusted draw for the 2024/2025 NNL season is scheduled to hold on the 29th of October, 2024 in Ikenne, Ogun State, during the Media/Coaches seminar, which Enakhena added is also opened to Chairmen and General Managers of clubs.

The draw for the 2024/2025 NNL Season, based on the adjusted regional groupings has been deliberately arranged to enable the clubs Head Coaches and Media Managers represent their various clubs as the NNL Preseason Seminars for Head Coaches and Media Managers commences 28th of October, 2024 at Remo Stars Sports Complex, Ikenne, Ogun State.

Observations were raised after the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the NNL in Bauchi last month, with clubs contesting their placements after the draw.

According to Enakhena, “in the proposed new adjustment, the North will have two groups of seven teams each with two teams (one each from each group) relegated at the end of the season. Two teams from each group (four) will qualify for the Super Eight play-offs.

“In the South, will have 22 teams divided into two groups of 11 apiece. Three teams will be relegated from each group. Four teams will go for the Super 8 play-offs.

The NALCOMA President therefore, commended the President of the NFF, Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau, the NNL Board Chairman, George Aluo, Club Chairmen/General Managers as well as stakeholders, for their perseverance and support.

He assured football stakeholders and followers that the clubs are ready to feature in the upcoming 2024-25 NNL season scheduled to kickoff on Saturday, 30th November 2024.

Enakhena admonished all football stakeholders to work together in the interest of taking ‘the Most Important League’ to the next level.
