The Kwara chapter of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), has urged Kwara United FC to go all out for a win against Heartland FC in their last match of the 2023/2024 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) tomorrow, Sunday June 23, 2024, by 4pm at the Kwara State Stadium, Ilorin.
The Sports Writers made this charge in a press release co-signed by the SWAN Chairman, Mallam Ayodejii Ismail, and Secretary, Dare Kuti.
Kwara United is currently 13th position with 48 points and are two points above the relegation zone.
SWAN called on supporters of club in the 16 Local Government Areas to come out in their large numbers to support Kwara United on Sunday.
The association urged the players to play with determination, passion and zeal in order to put smiles on the faces of the coaches, management, fans and Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.
“SWAN is charging players of Kwara United to win their match against Heartland FC to cement our place in the NPFL. Getting a draw against Heartland FC is dangerous because we are not sure of the results that will come out in other centres.
“We are calling on lovers and supporters of Kwara United to come out in their numbers on Sunday to cheer the team to victory.
“The role of the fans cannot be overemphasised in the game of football.
“We commend the untiring effort of the Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq-led government, for providing adequate funding in sustaining the team.
“The management of Kwara United led by Kumbi Titloye has ensured the smooth running of the club,” SWAN said.
