Kwara United’s trio of goalkeeper Dele Aiyenugba, Taiwo Salaudeen and Issa Gata has been named in the team of the Week Nine of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).

Also named in the line-up are Ernest Governor of Rangers International of Enugu, Peter Ambrose of Wikki Tourists and the duo of Benjamin Francis and Jimoh Gbadamosi of Heartland.

Aiyenugba, as usual put up a spirited performance that kept his team going despite conceding first against Sunshine Stars of Akure on Sunday.

Taiwo Salawudeen, who played on the right side of Kwara United back line, won everything. He was always combative, conscientious and committed.

Ernest Governor was described as nicked, flicked and kicked away everything and anything while always completely comfortable with the ball for Rangers.

Also on the list is Peter Ambrose of Wikki Tourist. He doesn’t seem to have bad games and put in another extremely solid shift. Never put a foot wrong and his assurance at the back allowed Wikki Tourists to be forceful further forward. He was Exceptional.

The duo of Benjamin Francis and Jimoh Gbadamosi of Heartland were judged to be awesome, steady and reliable, and these qualities stood them out.

Ndifreke Effiong of Akwa United leads the five-man attacking pattern that includes Issa Gata of Kwara United, who scored the equalizer for his team against Sunshine in Akure on Sunday, Anayo Iwuala of Enyimba FC, Ali Mallam of Kano Pillars and Tosin Omoyele of Enyimba FC

Isah Gata was effective, energetic and consistently embarrassed Sunshine Stars as he ruled supreme with his devastating runs into the heart of the defence.

He scored the equalizer and brought balance to the team.
