Kwara state Amateur League side, Barrier Football Academy (BFA) has announced Prince Ahmed Tunji Sulu-Gambari as new Chairman of the club.
The club had been without a Chairman for a while, with the First Vice Chairman, Engineer Laide Ahmed holding forth.
Speaking with newsmen in Ilorin, the Club’s Technical Director, Coach Taofeek Babatunde said that the need to raise the total profile of the club prompted the approach made to the new Chairman, who gladly accepted the challenge.
According to him, the new Chairman is so passionate about the development of football in the state, especially adding value to the club, which will compete in NLO II Division from March this year.
‘Prince Tunji, former footballer himself, has agreed to be Chairman of BFA, and we are glad to have him, because we know his presence in the team will assist us greatly’, he said.
‘He has also pledged to use the opportunity to give back to the society’, Coach Babatunde added.
BFA, which has continued to give youth footballers hope and secured career in the game, was introduced into the football development market in 2008, as a platform where talented youth can rise to stardom.
