Offa Descendants Union (ODU) has congratulated Rafiu Kayode Ishaq, for winning the 2021/2022 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) title with Rivers United FC of Port Harcourt.
Rivers United FC on Sunday defeated Gombe United by a lone goal to end the season with a record 77 points, to win the title.
And in a release by the ODU, and signed by the National PRO of the body, Maruf Olalekan Ajenifuja, they congratulated the Offa born player for been an integral part of the success.
“The ODU, under the distinguished leadership of Dr. Funsho Oladipo heartily congratulate Mr Rafiu Kayode Ishaq, a noble son of Offa on his NPFL triumph with his team, Rivers United FC”, the release read in part.
“Mr Rafiu of Rivers United FC, who contributed 14 goals to the amazing success, won the NPFL title for the first time. He also emerged as the 4th Highest Goal Scorer in the league.
The socio-cultural association described the achievements as outstanding, even is it wishes him more successes, both at home and abroad.
“His outstanding achievements are rewards for his never-say-die attitude and team spirit, as we wish him more successes on his move to European club”, the release added.
Rivers United FC, alongside Plateau United FC, which finished the season in second position with 67 points will represent Nigeria in the CAF Champions League championship, while third placed Remo Stars will play in the CAF Confederations Cup.
