In their bid to further create a platform for youth in Kwara state to express their passion, the Olusin of Ijara-Isin, His Royal Highness, Oba Ajibola Ademola Julius and Ambassador Yahaya SerikiGambarihas concluded plans to unveil their separate football clubs in the state.
The duo made this revelation in separate interviews with sports writers on the sidelines of Kwara United’s jersey launch held at the Main bowl of the Kwarastate stadium Ilorin on Thursday.
While expressing optimism in the proposed Olusin FC, Oba Ajibola Ademola Julius described sports as a unifier.
“In my capacity too, because of disappointmentswe are starting Olusin FC in ijara-Isin and by the grace of God we will be champions at the local level.
“Already we are preparing our stadium, and I invite sports writers to have a tour of it. We are using local content like bamboo for the seats and also engaging the youth in the town.”
The royal father who said the football club will kick off in the next one or two months called a privatization of the Kwara united FC so that investors can come on board.
“You heard the speech of the chairman saying that Kwara United is 100% owned by the state government. None of these big clubs in Europe is owned by their governments if they can call on private investors to come in, people like us will be happy to come in as long as the line of accountability is well taken care of,” he said.
Speaking in the same vein, Amb. Yahaya SerikiGambariwho was the Chief Launcher on the event assured that Amba FC is coming very soon.
He disclosed that he is passionate about empowering youth stressing that football goes a long way in taking youths off the streets and making their responsible adults in the near future.
He lauded the jersey launch of Kwara United FC stressing that, “When Kwara United plays we enjoy both economy and social benefits as you will see thousands of young men and women besiege the stadium to sell their wares and also interact socially. So creates a relationship between both the young and the old.”
He described governor Abdulrazaq Abdulrahman as a sports lover who does not shy away from supporting the club pointing out that, “this is what encourages some people like us from the business aspect to look into this kind of activities and see how we can reinvest into the sports activities as well.”
The Chief Launcher, Ambassador Yahaya Seriki, the Chairman of the occasion, Architect Kale Belgore, the Olusin of Ijara-Isin, Oba Ajibola Ademola Julius, Alhaja Muinat Shagaya and Kwara House of Assembly joined others in launching the jersey.
