Senator Sadiq’s N2 million donation puts glamour in State Federation Cup

    The Board of the Kwara State Football Association and football stakeholders in the state have praised the Senator representing Kwara North, Senator Suleiman Sadiq Umar for adding value to football development in the state.

    The Senator on Wednesday, during the final of the State Federation Cup competition, supported the Kwara State Football Association with the sum of N2 million.

    And today, Friday March 17th, 2023, the Kwara State Football Association distributed the money among the teams, the Board members, sports writers, the Organizing Committee and the stakeholders, for their efforts in the organisation of the competition.

    Kwara Ladies Football Club defeated Moje Queens of Erin-Ile 2-1 in the female.final, while Kwara United Football Club beat Abubakar Bukola Saraki Ilorin Football Club 4-2 on penalties, after playing out a goalless draw at regulation time.

    Kwara FA gave Moje Queens FC N100, 000, Kwara Ladies United FC N150, 000, ABS FC N200, 000, while Kwara United Football Club got N300, 000 from the money.

    The Chairman of the FA, Mallam Idris Abdullahi Musa said that the association will continue to pursue transparency in all its operations, as he praised the donor, Senator Sadiq Umar for the support.

    He praised the Senator for the support which he says has in one way or the other, raised the profile of the competition in the state, even he charged others to emulate the the gesture, especially for the development of the game at the grassroots.

    While reacting on behalf of the teams, the Chairman of Kwara Ladies Football Club, Mallam M. J. Daudu and the General Manager of Kwara United Football Club, Bashir Badawiy commended the FA for the support to the teams, as they thanked the Senatorforhis support.

    The four teams will represent the state at the National Federation Cup finals.
