The Executive Chairman of the Kwara State Sports Commission, Mallam Bola Mogaji has charged Kwara Ladies United Football Club to brace up for the forthcoming National Female Division One Championship, and ensure they qualify for the Women Professional Football League.
Mallam Mogaji gave the charge while receiving the team today, after winning the 2nd edition of RIFA Women Football League Pre- season Championship held at Sango Ota,Ogun state.
Kwara Ladies United Football Club and Royalstorms both ended with 11 points each after five round robin games, but the Kwara girls emerged champions on superior goals difference of plus six, ahead of Royalstorms which had plus five.
While receiving the team at the Conference Room of the Sports Commission, Mallam Mogaji commended the management of the team for their prudence, even as he thanked the team for fulfilling the promise made to him, before their departure for the Pre-season tournament.
He reminded them that it’s a Pre-season tournament, and should brace up for the league, which he said, will be more tougher and more challenging.
Mallam Mogaji commended the Coaches for their sacrifice.
The Chairman of the Club, Mallam Mohammed Jimoh Daudu thanked the state Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for boosting female football development in the state with the approval of monthly stipends for the girls.
He equally thanked Her Excellency, Mrs Olufolake AbdulRazaq for her support to the team, as well as the Executive Chairman of the State Sports Commission, for believing in the team.
He said that the club will intensify preparations for the National Female Division One Championship by engaging in friendly matches.
The General Manager of the team, Mallam Salman Aliyu commended the Executive Chairman of the Sports Commission, Mallam Bola Mogaji for motivating the girls, adding that that really brought out the best out of the girls who showed determination in all the matches.
