SWAN @ 60: Kwara FA Chairman donates trophy, balls to celebrate excellence

The Chairman of the Kwara State Football Association, Mallam Idris Musa Abdullahi (Thuraya), has donated a giant trophy and footballs to the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) in appreciation of the Award of Excellence conferred on him during the Association’s Diamond Jubilee Anniversary held in Abuja on Friday.

Mallam Abdullahi, who was among the distinguished awardees at SWAN @ 60, commended the association for its doggedness, commitment, and unwavering dedication to the growth and development of sports in Nigeria.

He described SWAN’s 60th anniversary as worthy of celebration, noting that the association has contributed immensely to the projection of sports policies and programmes across the country through accurate and responsible reportage.

According to the Kwara FA boss, although he might not have financial resources to offer, he decided to support SWAN with sports materials, agiant trophy and footballs, to promote healthy competition among its chapters nationwide.

He explained that while he may not have the means to contribute financially, he believes in supporting through sports materials, which informed his decision to donate a giant trophy and footballs for football competitions among SWAN chapters across the country.

Other award recipients from Kwara State at the ceremony included Chairman of Kwara United Football Club, Kumbi Titiloye; veteran broadcaster, Alhaji Hammed Adio; Director of Football, ABS FC, Chief Alloy Chukwuemeka; and ace sportscaster, Bayour Issah.
