Titilayo Yusuf Foundation to host U12/17 Closed Badminton Championship in Kwara

All is set for the hosting of Titilayo Yusuf (TY) Foundation U12/U17 Closed Badminton Championship in Ilorin, the capital of Kwara State.

The championship will take hold from December 21 to 23, 2023, at the Indoor Sports Hall of the Kwara State Sports Commission in Ilorin, from 9am to 3pm every day.

According to the Foundation, the tournament will serve as a platform to discover talents that will represent Nigeria in the nearest future. It’s the maiden edition of the championship.

“Kwara is known as the home of badminton in Nigeria, and we believe this tournament will help uncover more talents, further cementing the state’s dominance on both the local and international scenes.

The TY Foundation focuses on social development activities, poverty alleviation, providing means of livelihood, offering vocational training, and fostering sports development in Kwara State, with a broader focus on Nigeria as a whole.

The foundation’s objectives encompass a range of humanitarian services, including educational support, sports support, healthcare support, Islamic sponsorship, women empowerment, scholarships for the needy and orphans, and community support.

Additionally, the TY Foundation is committed to participating in general activities that contribute to the progress and development of the community.

This maiden edition of the tournament is expected to be graced by top sports stakeholders in the state, with fantastic prizes also set for the winners.

The foundation was established in memory of Hajia Titilayo Yusuf.
