ValueJet pre-season tournament: Remo stars, Kwara United pick semi-final tickets

Remo Stars Football Club and Kwara United Football Club have both picked the semi-final tickets from Group A of the ongoing ValueJet pre-season tournament in Ikenne.

Remo Stars, after playing out a one-all draw against Kwara United FC in the first game, went ahead to beat Sporting Lagos 2-0, and played out another one-all draw with Heartland in their last group game, to qualify as table toppers with five points and two goals surplus.

Early in the afternoon, Kwara United played goalless draw against Sporting Lagos, to also finish with five points and plus a goal surplus, while Sporting Lagos finished with four points.

Kwara United, after the draw with Remo Stars, defeated Heartland by a lone goal, and finished second behind Remo Stars on goal difference.

In Group B, Beyond Limit Academy drew two matches, one-all draw against Shooting Stars Sports Club, and goalless draw against Rivers United, before defeating Abia Warriors 2-0.

The last match in the group, between Rivers United and Abia Warriors will hold on Monday, to finally decide the two teams that will go through in Group B.

Kwara United will take on the winner of Group B, while the winner of Group A, Remo Stars will square up with runner up in Group B.

The semi-final matches will hold on Tuesday, while the final match has been scheduled for Thursday.

Meanwhile, Kabir Balogun was picked as the Man of the Match award winner in the match between Kwara United and Sporting Lagos. He is the second from the club to win the award, after Musa Abdulafeez, in the match against Remo Stars.
