The remains of the former Director of Sports, Mr David Oloruntoba Aileru will be committed to mother earth on July 31st, in Yaru, his home town.
He died on Saturday July 10th, 2021, in Ilorin.
Late Aleru, who was members of the Kwara State Basketball team that won bronze medals at the 1973 National Sports Festival joined Kwara State Sports Council as staff in 1976.
He was appointed as Organizing Secretary to the Basketball Association, Football Association, Table Tennis Association and Badminton Association during his service years at the Council.
He also served as Secretary to the Kwara State Sports Council between 1989 and 1990, and Head of Organizing Division, Kwara State Sports Council in 1998.
Late Aileru was appointed Special Assistant to the Commissioner for Sports and Youth Development on Technical Matter in 2007.
He became the Director of Sports, Kwara State Sports Council on July 24th, 2008, and retired from active service on July 6th, 2010.
