Friends, associates, family members and stakeholders will today, Friday September 15th, 2023, come togetherness to celebrate a legend in journalism and briadcating field, the indefatigable Bayour Issah, as he marks his 58th birthday.
Three major events have been scheduled as part of activities to celebrate the birthday of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Sportspro International, in Ilorin, Kwara state.
According to the Committee instituted for that purpose, and headed by Jimoh Bashir, a Special Prayer session for the celebrant and his family will hold at the Solagberu Mosque, opposite Kwara State Stadium Complex, Ilorin, during Jumat prayers, beginning from 2.30pm.
From there, a Novelty football match has been arranged between the U-14 players of the football and academic learning institution, Kwara Football Academy, and their Arsenal Kiddies counterparts, at the institution’s pitch, beginning from 3.30pm.
The activity to round off the ceremony, which has been tagged, “Night of Tributes” will hold at Henry George Hotel, Ilorin, beginning from 5.00pm, where stakeholders will be entertained, and where they are expected to present the celebrant, The Dean of the Sports Faculty, Mr Sports with gifts.
Ahead of the celebration, Nottingham Forest and Super Eagles striker, Taiwo Awoniyi had presented Bayour Issah with a Toyota Camry car, and a million naira, as gift for the birthday bash.
More goodies are expected to follow, especially at the grand finale, as the multiple award winning journalist is being celebrated by all and sundry, for his immense contributions to the development of sports in the state, Nigeria and Africa.
Expected to grace the programmes are top government functionaries, including the Executive Chairman of the Kwara State Sports Commission, Mallam Bola Mogaji, Chairman of Kwara United, Kumbi Titiloye and the Kwara FA Chairman, Mallam Idris Abdullahi Musa, popularly known as Thuraya.
Others are General Managers of various Media Houses, Managers of sports outfits and associations, members of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), his constituency, friends and associates, as well as family members.
Also expected are Chairmen and members of Sports Associations, athletes, Supporters Club and Fans Club of Kwara United Football Club and well wishers.
The ace sports broadcaster has continued to make the difference in sports development and promotion, including, but not limited to the grooming of various personaities and journalists, in various fields of sports and humanity.
The Committee therefore, urged all and sundry, to grace the three events, to give the celebrant a befitting birthday celebration.
