KFA Administrator celebrates Ramat Cup victory

The Administrator of Kwara Football Academy, Coach Kehinde Jimoh has expressed delight with his U-16 teams victory in the Ramat Cup football competition concluded in Kano few days ago.

Speaking to The Heraldsports, the former Secretary of Kwara State Football Association said that the secret of his team’s success has been their ever ready attitude to all situations, as they are always prepares at all times.

‘We are always prepared at all times. Kwara Football Academy is an institution that places priority on training at all times, even when there are no tournaments at hand’, he said.

The U-16 team defeated Bauchi 2-1 in the final of the 38th edition of the competition, to win it for the second time consecutively.

The Coach of the team Ladi Ojokojo was also selected as the Best Coach of the tournament, and Daniel Aiyenugba as the Best Goalkeeper. Daniel is the son of Kwara United first choice goalkeeper, Dele Aiyenugba.

While congratulating the boys for doing the state proud, she charged them to be humble, disciplined and remain dedicated, as more challenges lies ahead of them.

 He added that the Academy will be fully prepared to defend the title next year, as they hope to win the competition for the third time, and the trophy for keeps.

‘We will prepare hard to defend and win it for the third time, knowing well that some of the boys will not be eligible to participate next year because of age.

‘Almost half of the players will not be eligible next year, and that’s why we will extend our tentacles to all the 16 Local Government Areas to discover talents, in line with the policy thrust of the government, which places emphasis on the development of sports at the grassroots.
