The Kwara State Football Association (KWSFA) Electoral Committee has officially released the time-table and guidelines for the conduct of the 2026 Local Football Councils Elections across the state.
According to a statement signed by the Secretary of the Kwara State Football Association, Kashim Mohammed Agaka, interested candidates are expected to strictly adhere to the provisions of the Kwara FA Statutes governing the conduct of elections.
The statement disclosed that the sale and collection of nomination forms will commence on Monday, August 3, 2026, at the Football House, Kwara State Stadium Complex, Ilorin.
The nomination fees have been fixed at ₦100,000 for the office of Chairman, ₦70,000 for Vice Chairman, and ₦40,000 for Members.
Prospective contestants are expected to submit their completed nomination forms on Thursday, August 13, 2026, while the screening of candidates has been scheduled for Saturday, August 15, 2026, at the Football House, Kwara State Stadium Complex, Ilorin.
The Electoral Committee also announced that the names of successful candidates will be displayed on Wednesday, August 18, 2026, while appeals arising from the screening exercise, if any, will be entertained on Saturday, August 21, 2026, at the Football House.
The statement further revealed that the Local Football Councils Elections will hold on Tuesday, August 25, 2026.
The Electoral Committee urged all aspirants to conduct themselves in line with the electoral guidelines and comply fully with the provisions of the Kwara FA Statutes to ensure a transparent, credible, and peaceful electoral process.
